Sushi Crochet Pattern

Free Sushi Crochet Pattern With Written and Video Instructions.

YUM YUM how delicious does this Sushi look? I just want to dig right in, too bad its only crochet food and not the real stuff - but its hard to tell right?


-MATERIALS -

· DK yarn in various colours

· 3.5mm crochet hook

· Toy stuffing

· Embroidery needle and scissors


-ABBREVIATIONS-

· Magic Loop (I chain two and crochet into first loop to create ring)

· CH – Chain

· ST – Stitch

· SL ST – Slip stitch

· SK ST – Skip stitch

· SC – Single crochet

· HDC – Half double crochet

· DC – Double crochet

· SC2TOG – Single crochet two together

· JOIN and FO – SL ST into next ST, chain one, cut yarn

· FO- Fasten off

· FLO – Front loops only

· BLO – Back loops only

· T – Turn


-PATTERN NOTES-

· Pattern written using American terminology.

-MAKI-

Sushi – begin with green / orange yarn

1. CH2, 6SC into the 2nd ST from hook {6}

Change to white yarn.

2. 2SC into each ST around {12}

3. (SC1, 2SC into the next ST) 6 times {18}

4. IN BLO SC around {18}

5-8. SC around {18}

9. (SC1, SC2TOG) 6 times {12}

Join and FO.

Close hole by picking up the front loops only of the remaining 12 stitches in order, then pull tight to close.


Seaweed – make with black yarn.

1. CH7, SC into the 2nd CH from hook and all other chains across, CH1, T {6}

2-21. SC across, CH1, T {7}

Join and FO.

Wrap around rice and sew ends together.


-MOCHI-

Mochi – begin with brown yarn

1. CH2, 6SC into the 2nd ST from hook {6}

2-8. SC around {6}

Change to green yarn.

9. 2SC into each ST around {12}

10. (SC1, 2SC into the next ST) 6 times {18}

11. (SC2, 2SC into the next ST) 6 times {24}

12-16. SC around {24}

17. (SC2, SC2TOG) 6 times {18}

18. (SC1, SC2TOG) 6 times {12}

19. (SC2TOG) 6 times {6}

Change to yellow yarn.

20. 2SC into each ST around {12}

21. (SC1, 2SC into the next ST) 6 times {18}

22. (SC2, 2SC into the next ST) 6 times {24}

23-27. SC around {24}

28. (SC2, SC2TOG) 6 times {18}

29. (SC1, SC2TOG) 6 times {12}

30. (SC2TOG) 6 times {6}

Change to yellow yarn.

31. 2SC into each ST around {12}

32. (SC1, 2SC into the next ST) 6 times {18}

33. (SC2, 2SC into the next ST) 6 times {24}

34-38. SC around {24}

39. (SC2, SC2TOG) 6 times {18}

40. (SC1, SC2TOG) 6 times {12}

Join and FO.

Close hole by picking up the front loops only of the remaining 12 stitches in order, then pull tight to close.


-NIGIRI-

Rice– make with white yarn.

1. CH8, SC into the 2nd CH from hook, SC5, 4SC into the last stitch, working down the opposite side of the foundation chain, SC5, 3SC into the last ST {18}

2. 3SC into the 1st ST, SC5, 3SC into the next ST, SC2, 3SC into the next ST, SC5, 3SC into the next ST, SC2 {26}

3. IN BLO SC around {26}

4-6. SC around {26}

7. SC2, SC3TOG, SC5, SC3TOG, SC2, SC3TOG, SC5, SC3TOG {18}

Join and FO.

Using mattress stitch sew gap closed.


Fish – make with orange yarn.

1. CH2, 6SC into the 2nd ST from hook {6}

2. 2SC into each ST around {12}

3-10. SC around {12}

11. (SC2TOG) 6 times {6}

12. Press last 6 stitches together so that there are 2 stitches on either side of one another and crochet two stitches together in a line closing hole, CH1, T {3}

13. *CH3, 2DC, CH3, SL ST* all into the same ST, SL ST along to 3rd ST, Repeat ** in last ST.

Join and FO.

With white yarn sew lines around fish.

Sew fish onto rice.


Seaweed – make with green yarn.

1. CH18, SC into the 2nd CH from hook and all other chains across, CH1, T {17}

2. SC across {17}

Join and FO.

Wrap around fish and rice and sew ends together.


-O-NIGIRI-

Rice – make with white yarn

1. CH12, SC into the 2nd CH from hook, SC9, 3SC into the last stitch, working down the opposite side of the foundation chain, SC9, 2SC into the last ST {24}

2-4. SC around {24}

5. (SC2, SC2TOG) 6 times {18}

6-8. SC around {18}

9. (SC1, SC2TOG) 6 times {12}

10-11. SC around {12}

12. (SC2, SC2TOG) 3 times {9}

13. SC around {9}

Join and FO.

Close hole by picking up the front loops only of the remaining 9 stitches in order, then pull tight to close.


Seaweed – make with green yarn.

1. CH8, SC into the 2nd CH from hook and all other chains across, CH1, T {7}

2-14. SC across, CH1, T {7}

Join and FO.

Pin and sew around the bottom of the rise.


-SASHIMI-

Rice– make with white yarn.

1. CH8, SC into the 2nd CH from hook, SC5, 4SC into the last stitch, working down the opposite side of the foundation chain, SC5, 3SC into the last ST {18}

2. 3SC into the 1st ST, SC5, 3SC into the next ST, SC2, 3SC into the next ST, SC5, 3SC into the next ST, SC2 {26}

3. IN BLO SC around {26}

4-6. SC around {26}

7. SC2, SC3TOG, SC5, SC3TOG, SC2, SC3TOG, SC5, SC3TOG {18}

Join and FO.
