Puff Flower

Vintage retro puff flower mirrors!! These are giving everything bright, bold and retro!!!!!

-MATERIALS-

·      DK yarn in colour of choice

·        5.5mm crochet hook

-ABBREVIATIONS-

·        Magic Loop (I chain two and crochet into first loop to create ring)

·        CH – Chain

·        ST – Stitch

·        SL ST – Slip stitch

·        SK ST – Skip stitch

·        SC – Single crochet

·        HDC – Half double crochet

·        DC – Double crochet

·        JOIN and FO – SL ST into next ST, chain one, cut yarn

·        FO- Fasten off

·        T – Turn

·        DC6TOG – Double crochet 6 together (double crochet cluster).

·        DC6TOG over 2 stitches – See special stitch section.

-CONSTRUCTION NOTES- 

-        Numbers written inside {} state the number of stitches at the end of round.

-        Pattern written inside () should be repeated the number of times stated.

-        Pattern written inside ** should be don’t into one stitch.

-        Pattern is written using US Crochet terminology.

 

-PATTERN NOTES-

-Petals are made using 2 stitches.

-Flower centres are made separately.

-SPECIAL STITCH-

-DC6TOG over two stitches – Double crochet 6 stitches together over two stitches:

Yarn over, insert hook into stitch, yarn over pull up a loop, yarn over pull through two stitches, yarn over insert hook into same stitch, yarn over pull up a loop, yarn over pull through two stitches, yarn over insert hook into same stitch, yarn over pull up a loop, yarn over pull through two stitches, yarn over, insert hook into the NEXT stitch, yarn over pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through two stitches, yarn over insert hook into same stitch, yarn over pull up a loop, yarn over pull through two stitches, yarn over insert hook into same stitch, yarn over pull up a loop, yarn over pull through two stitches, you will now have 7 loops on your look, yarn over and pull through all loops.

-METHOD-

Puff Flower – make in colour of choice.

1.      CH5, SL ST into first chain to form a loop, CH1, SC12 into loop, SL ST into first chain to join {12}

2.      CH2, DC6TOG over two stitches, CH3, SL ST into next ST repeat ** 6 times.

FO.

Flower Centre – make in colour of choice.

1.      CH5, DC6TOG into the 1^st chain.

FO.

Use start and end tail to sew into place on the centre of flower.
