-MATERIALS-

DK yarn

 4mm crochet hook

 Embroidery needle

 Scissors

8mm safety eyes


-ABBREVIATIONS-

Magic Loop (I chain two and crochet into first loop to create ring)

CH – Chain

ST – Stitch

SL ST – Slip stitch

SK ST – Skip stitch

SC – Single crochet

DC – Double crochet

JOIN and FO – SL ST into next ST, chain one, cut yarn

FLO - Front loop only

BLO - Back loop only

FO- Fasten off

T – Turn

Numbers written inside {} state the number of stitches at the end of round.

All instructions inside ** are to be made into same space.

Pattern is written using US Crochet terminology.

-METHOD-


Pumpkin - begin with brown yarn.

  1. CH2, 6SC into the 2nd CH from hook {6}

  2. SC around {6}

  3. SC around {6}

  4. SC around {6}

Change to pumpkin colour.

5. 2SC into every ST around {12}

6. (SC2, 2SC into the next ST) 6 times {18}

7. (SC3, 2SC into the next ST) 6 times {24}

8. (SC4, 2SC into the next ST) 6 times {30}

9. (SC5, 2SC into the next ST) 6 times {36}

    10. (SC6, 2SC into the next ST) 6 times {42}

    11. (SC7, 2SC into the next ST) 6 times {48}

12-17. SC around {48} - 6 rounds.

18. (SC6, SC2TOG) 6 times {42}

    19. (SC5, SC2TOG) 6 times {36}

    20. (SC4, SC2TOG) 6 times {30}

    21. (SC3, SC2TOG) 6 times {24}

    22. (SC2, SC2TOG) 6 times {18}

    23. (SC1, SC2TOG) 6 times {12}

24. (SC2TOG) 6 times {6}

Stuff Pumpkin.

Join and FO leaving a long tail.

Make pumpkin ‘segments’ by wrapping the yarn tail around the pumpkin splitting it in half, pull tight to make indent and then sew a knot at the bottom of pumpkin. Wrap the yarn around the pumpkin twice more to make a total of 6 segments. Sew a knot into the bottom of pumpkin after each pass to secure.


Curly Leaves – make with colour of choice

1.       CH15, 3SC into the 2nd CH from hook and all other chains across.

Join and FO.

Sew onto the step of pumpkin.
